Operator Dashboard
A detailed guide to everything operators see and can do from their main dashboard view.
Overview
The operator dashboard is your command center during a shift. It is designed to surface the most critical information immediately — your current station, the active work order, parts progress, and any messages from the previous shift — so you can start work without searching through menus or pages.
Station Panel
The central card displays your currently checked-in station. It shows the station name, work center type (e.g., CNC Mill, Lathe), and current condition status (Running, Idle, or Down). If the previous operator left a handoff note, a banner at the top of this card prompts you to review it before starting work. The condition status is color-coded: green for Running, amber for Idle, and red for Down.
Active Work Order
Within the station panel, the active work order is displayed with its key details: work order number, part number, customer name, required quantity, and completed quantity. A progress bar shows how close you are to completing the order. You can update the parts count directly from this card — enter the number of good parts, scrap, and rework produced during your shift.
Upcoming Queue
Below the station panel, a list shows the next work orders routed to your station, sorted by priority and due date. Each entry displays the WO number, part, priority badge, and due date. This gives you visibility into what is coming next so you can prepare tooling, fixtures, or materials in advance. Tapping a work order opens its detail view.
Quick Action Buttons
A row of action buttons provides one-tap access to frequent tasks: "Create Handoff" (document your shift's work for the next operator), "File NCR" (report a quality issue), "Request Delivery" (ask for material or parts to be brought to your station), and "View Station Detail" (see full station history and equipment info). These buttons are always visible at the top of the page without scrolling.
Handoff Banner
If the previous operator submitted a handoff for your station, a highlighted banner appears at the top of your dashboard when you first check in. This banner shows a summary of their notes — machine condition, parts progress, and any issues flagged. Click the banner to read the full handoff and mark it as acknowledged. Acknowledging the handoff dismisses the banner and logs that you received the information.
What You Cannot Access
As an Operator, your dashboard is scoped to your assigned station and team. You will not see stations from other teams, cross-team analytics, or administrative controls. This is by design — it keeps your view focused on your immediate responsibilities. If you need information outside your scope, ask your Supervisor.
