JobLine Machine Connect
The transport layer between your CNC machines and the JobLine platform. DNC program transfers, live machine monitoring, alarm streaming — all from inside VS Code.
DNC Transfer Protocols
Send programs to any CNC — legacy serial machines to modern networked controls. Station-specific connection profiles are persisted so operators don't reconfigure every session.
Upload and download programs to controllers with FTP support. Secure transfers with SFTP where the control supports it.
Direct serial DNC for legacy controls. Configurable baud rate, parity, handshaking — handles drip-feed and block transfers.
TCP/IP connectivity for modern CNCs. Shared network folder mapping, direct socket connections, and auto-discovery.
Real-time bidirectional channel between VS Code and the JobLine platform. Streams machine snapshots, alarms, and DNC status.
Real-Time Machine Monitoring
Machine Connect doesn't just transfer files — it keeps a live data feed flowing from your CNC controls into the JobLine platform.
Live Machine Status
Spindle state, feed overrides, axis positions, and cycle progress from the control. MTConnect reading is implemented and in pilot verification; FOCAS2 (Fanuc) is in development and not yet available.
Alarm & Event Streaming
Active alarms, operator messages, and machine events are relayed to the JobLine dashboard and surfaced as alerts for supervisors.
OEE Data Collection
Captures cycle times, idle durations, and part counts at the source. Feeds directly into production analytics without manual entry.
Historical Snapshots
Machine state snapshots are stored in the backend for trend analysis, downtime root cause investigation, and shift-over-shift comparison.
Entitlement-Gated
Machine monitoring features are available on Enterprise plans. Non-entitled organizations see a clean upgrade prompt — no broken UI.
MCP Tool Exposure
AI agents query machine state, send programs, and write shift notes through natural language via the jobline-mcp server.
Tested Controllers
Beta testing is focused on these controller families. Additional controls are being added based on partner shop equipment.
Two Extensions, One Platform
The generates the language intelligence layer. Machine Connect handles the transport layer. Both feed data into the same JobLine backend — so supervisors see machine status on their dashboards, operators get handoff context, and AI agents can query everything through MCP tools.
